Artistically, I have explored different visual arts mediums of expression. Among them, photography, painting, prints, and installations. But I am also interested in the art process and how art making is a way to foster communities.The experimentation with color was an important in my work in the beginnings, for its expressiveness. After 2004, because of the tense situation of my country, my practice became more intimate with a critical approach. I developed a work deeper in critical reflection of the context that surrounded me. From early on, I was interested in exploring notions of identity, social issues, urban sensibility, and cultural diversity. I use different mediums as means to develop ways of narrating and presenting my thoughts of the world.
Now, as an immigrant, I look back to my history, my memories, and experiences, and through the eyes of an artist I express my response in a critical and sensitive way.I am interested in responding to the question: Why am I here? How can art make us understand the complexity of contemporary culture? How can art connect us meaningfully?
